The Netherlands has built a unique floating area Schoonschip!

The Dutch architecture studio i29 has created the unique urban community of Schoonschip.
This is a completely new floating st. of Amsterdam, which consists of 46 houses.

The new floating district aims to become the urban ecosystem, which makes full use of environmental energy and water, minimizes waste, and creates space for biodiversity.

Features of the houseboat in Schoonschip:
1. Black wooden facade and sloping roofs;
2. Open inner living areas;
3. The glass window from floor to ceiling, which provides natural lighting and scenic views of the water;
4. The solar panels which are arranged on the roof;
5. Excellent insulation;
6. A system that properly processes the waste water;
7. The water pump, thanks to which there is space heating.
